How About Some Learn & Play? Thing #20 Youtube

November 13, 2008 · 1 Comment

Alright, I’m skipping around the 23 things now, ’cause I’m ready to move on, you know, to blog about other things.  Anyway Youtube.  It’s revolutionized content on the web.  Video killed the internet star and all that.  I don’t really have much to say about it but it’s pretty cool to think that maybe someday, almost anything ever recorded will be archived and found on the web.

I have a friend, whose husband loves the youtube, and could probably say something elegant or profound about its value as an archive or time capsule, bits of cultural memory shot forward into present and future.  What is it the shamans say, all times are now?  I dunno.  All I know is I like to embed videos.

Here’s one I saw for the first time at the Wexner Center’s Guy Maddin retrospective (2002?) with the abovementioned friend.  It friggin rocks, like bullets from the sun.
